The new Majority Tru2 true wireless earbuds burst into the scene
sporting massive 13mm drivers, making them truly more powerful than the
majority of the competition!
The Majority Tru2 earbuds have the classic hair dryer earbud design
with a long stem, which anchors the earbuds and prevents them from
falling out. The Tru2 earbuds have an all-plastic construction. The
bottom
half of the body shell has a glossy finish, while the top half of the
stem has a matte plastic finish. Despite being non-rubberized, the
plastic is grippy which helps keep the earbuds in the ears securely. The
fit is comfortable too, thanks to the short nozzle design, which
doesn't insert
too deep inside the ear canal.
The Tru2 earbuds
integrate low sensitive touch controls, which means you have to firmly
tap on the stem to register an action. This is both an advantage and
disadvantage if you prefer lightly tapping on earbuds. Touch controls include play/pause, track skipping
(next/previous), voice assistant, ANC/Transparency mode and calls
(answer/end/reject), which are operated via single, double and triple
tap gestures.
The Majority Tru2 earbuds and charging case fully charge in 1.5
hours. At medium, you can get 6 hours of battery life with ANC OFF
and 5 hours with ANC ON. There is quick charge support too, which gives 1
hour of battery life from a 15 minute charge. The Tru2 charging case
holds 17 hours of power to recharge the earbuds. The Tru2 charging case
is very compact with a pebble shape design easy to slide in and out of a
jeans pocket. Dimensions of the case are 55.5cm x 4.5cm x 3cm thick.
The weight is 39 grams for the case and 5 grams per earbud.
As
far as sweat resistance, it appears to be an oversight as it strangely reads "IPX" without an actual
rating (e.g. IPX5, IPX7, etc). That said, you can expect the
Majority Tru2 earbuds to be at least IPX4 rated since most true wireless
earbuds are sweat resistant by designed. Pairing and connection is
straight forward. Simply flip the case lid open and connect the earbuds
without having to remove them out of the case. To power them off, simply
close the lid.
Switching between stereo and mono listening is seamless,
although re-connection is no instant (2-second re-connection delay).
The bluetooth status led stops flashing once connected, which means no
annoying blinking earbuds! The audio performance is the key selling
point. Plenty of volume and bass sound without muddling the vocals.
Majority has no app support for the earbuds though, which means no
native EQ. You can
use your phone's built-in EQ, although a native EQ app for earbuds is
always better optimize.
The ANC and transparency mode performance
is decent too if you use ANC while playing music to block external sounds.
Without audio playing, the ANC will marginally attenuate ambient sounds. It
will not block people chatter or completely remove external noise. The
microphone performance is good for casual calls, even in loud
environments. The mics have some noise suppression built-in, although not
very strong so, background noise gets leaked into the call.
