BlitzWolf BW-BS4 Selfie Stick Tripod With Remote

Wednesday, November 07, 2018

While a useful and popular contraption, the selfie stick's popularity dwindled since its heyday in 2015 when the selfie stick went from one of the most popular gadgets in the world to the one of the most annoying gadgets in the world!
So annoying the selfie became that it is still banned and restricted from many tourist sights and entertainment venues such as The Tower of London, The Colosseum, Buckingham Palace, Wembley Arena and White Hart Lane football club.
Despite the nuisance a selfie stick can cause to others, the selfie stick remains a handy accessory to have at hand for group photography and aerial photography. This selfie stick by BlitzWolf even has a tripod built-in to it so you can use it for still photography too.
The BlitzWolf selfie stick tripod adds on to the functionality of the selfie stick extension in a clever way without adding much bulk to it nor weight thanks to its aluminum alloy and ABS construction which makes the BlitzWolf selfie stick only weigh 220 grams.
When folded, the BlitzWolf selfie stick measures 20.5cm long and 96cm long when fully extended. In tripod mode, the maximum height you can reach is 86 cm tall.
The smartphone cradle is 5.5cm tall but it's adjustable to 8.5cm to accommodate phones with cases. You can comfortably fit an iPhone 8 Plus with an Otterbox Defender case.
The cradle can be rotated fully 360 degrees while the arm section, the cradle is attached to, can be rotated vertically up and down, 225 degrees, for overhead shots.
the arm can be held at any angle via the integrated thumb screw
The assembly that holds the adjustable cradle can be rotated 360 degrees so you can adjust your phone to any viewing angle aside from portrait (90 degrees) and landscape (180 degrees).
The bluetooth remote, which detaches from the selfie stick handle by sliding out, turns into a handy wireless remote shutter.
The BlitzWolf selfie stick tripod bluetooth remote has a wireless coverage of 10 meters long and battery life can last two days from a single 30-minute charge. The battery capacity is 65mAh.
There is an automatic power-off feature integrated in the bluetooth remote to save battery so after 10 minutes of inactivity the bluetooth remote shuts off itself. You can turn off the remote manually by holding down the button for 3 seconds.
When not in use, the bluetooth remote slides back onto the selfie stick handle fully covering the micro charging port on the bluetooth remote.
Not having the charging port exposed on the Blitz selfie stick provides some sort of protection against dust and light rain.
As far as the stability, the BlitzWolf tripod 17cm-long legs open wide enough but stability depends primarily on the weight of the phone you use. You get good stability at all heights with a caseless iPhone 8 (148 grams) without the phone's weight tilting the tripod.
However, when the selfie stick is fully extended with a heavier phone like the iPhone Plus series (202 grams) or iPhone X (174 grams) the tripod may tilt to one side especially if it's windy.
If you plan to use a heavy phone with the BlitzWolf BW-BS4 selfie stick, it's best to expand the selfie stick to about half or three-quarters of the way for better stability.
The bottom of the BlitzWolf tripod legs also feature non-slip rubber feet which provide additional stability on shiny surfaces.
BlitzWolf offers 18-month warranty
The BlitzWolf BW-BS4 selfie stick tripod is really a neat 2-in-1 versatile piece of equipment that packs small and can be stored even in your trouser pocket.
