Y-CAM Protect Alarm System: Affordable Home Intrusion Detection System
Friday, February 10, 2017
The Y-cam app gives you the same functionality you get with the Protect Remote but you can do much more with the Y-cam app such as set up alerts, upgrade the firmware of the hub system, enable/disable the Tamper switch, check the signal strength and check battery level of sensors.
What's in the box? Here is what you get with the Y-cam Protect Alarm System:
Hub System
The hub system registers the inputs received from the sensors and features an LED indicator light, an antenna port, an Ethernet port and a power DC port. On the bottom of the unit, you get rubber feet and holes for hanging up the unit.
the remote features a panic button
The Protect Remote controls the Y-cam hub alarm system without using the Y-cam app so it allows you to arm/disarm the alarm the system at close range (around 150 meters). The remote is powered by a single CR2450 coin cell battery. The remote also features a Home button which when pressed disables the motion sensor when you are home (the access sensors remained armed).Protect Motion Sensor
the alarm sounds loud enough to spook a would-be thief
The larger part of the Protect Access Sensor is powered by a single CR123A coin cell battery and measures 69,5mm long. The smaller part is non-battery powered and measures 34.75mm long. The Protect Access Sensor will send a signal to the main system hub when battery is running low.
visual deterrent sticker included
As mentioned earlier, Y-cam's Protect Alarm System requires no monthly fees. With that said, it is worth sign up to the Y-cam Plus service in order maximize protection and get tons of benefits such as Internet, SIM card and battery backup, SMS and push alarm notifications, 24/7 line monitoring, monthly alarm and video activity logs, 3 year extended warranty and 1 year instant replacements.
