Up for review today is the Z Android TV box/ remote+ air mouse combo by Probox2. The Probox2 Z media player is powered by Amlogic S905 Quad-Core 64bit ARM Cortex and PENTA Core MALI-450 GPU. The Probox2 Z plays 4K in 60 Hz Full HD, runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes with KODI pre-installed, as well as Hardware H.265/HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) video decoding.
The wireless connectivity is via Gigalan (wifi) 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0. The system memory is 1 Gigabit DDR3 RAM with 8 Gigabit eMMC flash memory storage. Inside the box, you get a power adapter, HDMI cable, user manual and IR remote control. Out of the UGOOS UT4 and DroidBox TS-Plus, the Probox2 Z 64Bit box is easily one of the slimmest and thinnest Android TV boxes out there (weighs less than 190 grams).
There is a small LED indicator on the front of the box that turns blue once you power on the unit. The SD card slot (can read up to 128 GB) and USB 2.0 port are located on the right hand side.
On the back of the unit, you find an optical audio connection, an RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port, HDMI 2.0 port (CEC 2.0), another USB 2/0 port and the 5 volt DC socket.

The main screen features weather report bar, date and time as well as six main folders which include Movies, TV shows, Music, Games, KODI Media Center, Internet, File Browser and Market (Google Play Store).


Clicking on More will show additional folders: Favorites, Photos, Streaming, Social, Task Killer and Settings.
Clicking "All Apps" will show more folders and apps.You can add more apps by clicking on the "plus sign" folder.
Clicking on Settings, takes you to the Settings page where you can adjust display and sounds as well as change date/time, language and network connection.
Probox2 Z also comes with a dedicated app called KodiMate which helps you install third-party add ons, as well as a cool launcher called MediaBox Launcher
The Probox2 Z Amlogic S905 Android 5.1 TV Box has a slick design and comes pre-rooted. The Advanced Video Coding and High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) video playback in 720p/2304p/1080p resolutions and 2160p/HEVC 4K resolutions played correctly. Gameplay performance is smooth in both 2D action games and even 3D racing games without any noticeable jerkiness.
