Up for review is a pair of SoundPeats Q9 sports earphones which come with a beautifully sewn mesh carry pouch, three sets of ear plug tips (small, medium and large), a crocodile cable clip, two cable management clips (to shrink or expand the cable to your liking), a charging cable (standard USB to micro-USB) and a user guide.
The functions and controls on the SoundPeats Q9 are located on the “right” headphone piece and consists of three buttons. Two of those buttons (with a minus and plus symbols) are the volume up/down buttons, which also work as the track-skip forward/backward buttons.

The middle button (in-between the volume up and down buttons) is another multi-functional button. On the same "right" headphone piece you’ll find the micro-USB port, built-in mic (to use as an ear piece for phone calls), and a flashing LED notification light to alert you of low battery, charging mode and paring mode. If you like headphones with separate buttons for each function you may want to check out the A1 headphones.

Both headphone pieces of the Q9's are separated by an anti-tangle flat cable. The Q9 headphones fit on the ears very easily and fit one way to prevent confusion, though the flexible rubber ear hooks do have indicators showing “left” and “right”. The Q9 headphones perform well as far as sound is concerned, and have a nicely-balanced bass sound with a neatly defined mid-range treble.
To turn the headphones off and on, you simply press and hold the middle button. When turned off, the LED notification light will show red. To select paring mode, you press and hold the middle button again for 8 seconds. The LED indicator will flash blue and red letting you know the headphones are ready to be paired with your Bluetooth-enabled phone. Once the headphones and your phone are paired, you’ll be able to control your phone’s player.
Battery life is around 5 hrs on 60% volume. Charging the unit is very easy (it takes around 80 minutes to fully charge the SoundPeats Q9)

The Verdict
SoundPeats Q9 headphones are budget-priced, easily pairable, lightweight, very comfortable, solid built and they do provide a secure fit on your ears which is perfect for when working out at the gym.
